How many of us hide our talents, afraid of what others might think if we dare to step into the spotlight and show just how good we really are?

That very question sparked plenty of conversation at our networking breakfast at the Rose & Crown in Wimbledon. We were delighted to welcome over 50 women from the local business community for a morning of coffee, croissants, and connection. Hosted by Time & Leisure’s Lucy Kane who shared her own journey, topped off with an inspiring talk from our guest speaker, Esther Stanhope, also known as The Impact Guru.

Esther has a background in broadcasting, where she interviewed countless big names and coached them before they stepped in front of the camera. Today, she uses those same skills to help business professionals speak with confidence and make their mark.

Her latest book, Visibly Brilliant, tackles a familiar challenge – especially for women. Many are technically brilliant at what they do, yet often go unrecognised. Esther shared practical advice on how to shift that dynamic, including one simple but powerful tip: do just one thing each day to highlight your achievements.

Don’t sweat over crafting the perfect LinkedIn post – just put your message out there. According to Esther, this isn’t about bragging or showing off; it’s about sharing knowledge and experiences with others. Not only is that useful, it’s generous too!
