Over 90 women joined Time & Leisure to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, enjoying a fabulous breakfast of networking. The guest list included an incredible array of female leaders, entrepreneurs, skilled and professional women. There was a terrific buzz at our biggest breakfast yet, hosted at Elys restaurant in Wimbledon. New connections were made and stories shared, kick-starting the day with great positivity and fun.
Lucy Kane, Owner publisher of Time & Leisure commented ‘You can sort out your whole life out with the incredible skills and knowledge on offer from the women in business in this room today’. Guests were invited to share the profession or field. There was an impressive range from politicians, business start ups, restaurateurs to solicitors, coaches and health and beauty professionals.
‘Amazing to see how many women came together – very inspiring.”
Megan James-Dare, Marketing Manager, Elys
Our guest speaker Camilla Barnard, co-founder of Rude Health made a brave appearance. Unfortunately it was cut short due to illness so we will follow up with a special podcast which we’ll share first with our IWD guests. We’ll share this as soon as it’s live.
It was our pleasure to recognise Diana Sterck and her outstanding career, leading Merton Chamber of Commerce for 22 years and supporting so many small businesses to grow and flourish in the borough. We presented some flowers and Lucy gave her heartfelt thanks on behalf of Time & Leisure
Always such a great turn-out and good to meet new people and share experiences.”
Sarah Guignard, Owner, The French Table
Charlotta Harbour will take over from Diana in May and talked about the many benefits of joining Merton chamber. Personal Stylist Helen Canning-Ford at Elys gave us top tips for the new season fashion, hot from the catwalk at Elys Edit fashion show.
This year’s theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’ for International Women’s Day 2024 is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and empowerment.
Our speeches ended with everyone holding up their hearts to #InspireInclusion. We joined millions of others around the world, celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
